Bryn Ifan Camping is located in the heart of rural North Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The campsite is surrounded by woodland, mountains, and rivers, and it is home to a wide variety of wildlife. During a summer stay at Bryn Ifan, you are likely to see a range of animals and birds. Gwynn photographed this beautiful hare last season which was a regular visitor to the meadow and we hope to see it again this year.

Bryn Ifan is home to a variety of birds, including buzzards which can often be seen perched on fence posts or trees. You might also see and hear curlew woodpeckers and cuckoos in spring. During your stay in the meadow you will see a variety of wild flowers and insects such as butterflies, moths and dragonflies. Bryn Ifan is home to the rare Marsh Fritillary butterfly which is in danger of extinction and is highly dependant on the fragile ecosystem which is preserved here.
If you walk along the cliffs at Trefor down on the coast you can see a variety of seabirds including cormorants and shags You will see these seabirds resting on the cliffs and spreading their wings out to dry their feathers. Often you can often spot seals and pods of dolphins which are abundant in this area of coast.
Our own wildlife
Tiggy and Blackie
Our two cats are part of the family here at Bryn Ifan Camping. They love hanging out in the meadow and checking out everyones tents. They are friendly and love meeting our campers when they arrive.
Foxy and Deio
Deio and Foxy, our two mini shetland ponies help us out by maintaining the grounds of Bryn Ifan Camping. They are always happy to munch on (and fertilize) our lawns. Deio is local, from the Carneddau mountains and Foxy comes from a field near Shrewsbury. They are inseparable and quite like hanging out with our nine pet sheep.
